Maintenance The process of solving a problem in the computer.

  • Power cable Used to transfer only electrical signals between computer components (parts)

INSTALLING OPERATING SYSTEM / SYSTEM SOFTWARE
OPERATING SYSTEM / SYSTEM SOFTWARE   is a program or set of instruction which controls other parts of the computer. It control how other programs arranging files and folders, controls the hardware like mouse, keyboard etc.
WINDOWS OPERATING SYSTEM   
WINDOWS  is a software or program that control all programs and computer system in general.

Installing operating system procedures:-
  • Open the CD tray
  • Put a window CD and close CD tray
  • Switch off the computer while holding F12 button
  • Wait until the program responds
  • Accept the installation and follow instruction
  • Select language and finishing installation
  • Make system rating
SYSTEM RATING  a process of enhancing the computer performance functionalities.

 ICON   is a symbol or a picture on the computer desktop/screen that represents a particular computer function. E.g a folder icon, internet explorer icon, adobe reader icon etc.

DISK PARTITION   is an activity or process of dividing a disk (local disk C) into several parts.
The following are the reasons for making disk partition
  • To separate data between personal data and the system files/data (O.S)
  • To improve data performance since information flow easily when huge location
  • For making easy backup and recovery of data
How to make disk partition in a computer (internal HDD)

  • – Select the disk you want to make partition
  • – Shrink volume/make new simple volume
  • – Change available MBs to shrink into GBs you need to use
